Topics include aerial and satellite imaging, close-range photogrammetry, 3D scanning and microscopic inspection, with a focus on their use in the conservation, restoration and global accessibility of cultural assets.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course features weekly lectures by international experts, offering a range of technical, theoretical and applied perspectives. Case studies from field and laboratory settings illustrate the practical use of these tools in heritage contexts. No prior technical background is required, and the course is taught in English.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you will be able to do<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the end of the course, students will be able to:<\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Explain the fundamental principles of digital imaging technologies used to document and preserve tangible cultural heritage.<\/li><li>Compare and assess the suitability of different imaging methods, such as photogrammetry and 3D scanning, for various heritage contexts.<\/li><li>Interpret and discuss real-world case studies that show digital tools applied in conservation and dissemination projects.<\/li><li>Describe basic digital workflows for capturing, processing and managing visual heritage data.<\/li><li>Reflect critically on ethical, cultural and technical challenges in heritage imaging within an international context.<\/li><\/ol><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is behind it<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course was founded by Prof. Moshe Caine, who gives its opening session. It is convened by Dr. Doron Altaratz.
